Optoelectronics and Optics technologies play an important role in today's life, and their importance is expected to further increase in the near future.

This course is a survey of hot topics in this field, which are presently developed, in cooperation with international partners, by the research groups of the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering of the University of Pavia.

This course consists of 7 lessons and 16 hours.

The course amounts to 12 hours that can be attended freely by students within the main PhD course of Internet of Things coordinated by prof. Paolo Gamba.

In the course issues relative to the main algorithms used to encrypt streaming of data in a safety way will be given together with fundamentals on technologies that allow their efficient implementation on custom hardware circuits (i. e. FPGA). Lectures will be organised in the following way:

- Cybersecurity fundamentals

- Private Key Criptography

- FPGA introduction

- Secure Hardware: Pipelining and Retiming

- Security in IoT devices
